About Phare and Phare Circus Ticket:

Phare, The Cambodian Circus: unique evening entertainment in Siem Reap. Uses theater, music, dance, and circus arts for Cambodian stories – historical, folk, modern. Circus artists from Phare Ponleu Selpak’s training center in Battambang. The association was created in 1994 by 9 young men returning from a refugee camp post the Khmer Rouge regime. Helped by an art teacher, they founded an art school in Battambang, later expanding to public, music, theatre, and circus schools.

Over 1,200 students attend the public school daily, with 500 in the alternative schools. Phare Ponleu Selpak runs outreach programs addressing social issues. Phare The Cambodian Circus provides students with skill development opportunities and sustainable income, aiming to uplift them from poverty.
