Tour Itinerary

Day 1:

Angkor Temple Complex and Chong Kneas Floating Village

Embark on a full-day tour of the Angkor Wat complex and the floating village of Chong Kneas. Explore the ancient temples of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, and Ta Prohm, then discover the floating village of Chong Kneas.

Start your day with a visit to the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat temple, where you’ll be mesmerized by its grandeur and intricate architecture. Continue to the South Gate of Angkor Thom, immersing yourself in the majestic atmosphere of this ancient city.

Next on your list is the famous Bayon Temple, known for its enchanting smiling faces carved into the stone walls. After lunch break, we continue to the enchanting Ta Prohm Temple, famously entwined with thick roots of towering trees.

In the mid-afternoon, explore the Chong Kneas floating village with a beautiful sunset. Travel through the countryside to Tonle Sap Lake, classified as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1997. Take a boat trip around the lake to see floating villages and get a taste for life ruled by monsoonal rains and water-based agriculture.

The lake is one of the world’s most productive bodies of fresh water. During the dry half of the year, the lake shrinks to as small as 2,500 km², draining into the Tonle Sap River. In the wet season, the lake swells to 12,000 km². After sunset, drive back to Siem Reap.
